The 2012 European Championship

The 2012 European Championship for men's national football teams was the biggest sports event in Poland and in whole Europe. It was organized by UEFA. This kind of events is organized every four years in different countries, which has been chose five years before the event. Executive Committee chose Ukraine and Poland's offer in 2007, so it was time to prepare this country to organize such a big undertaking.

European Championship was co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine, so some games was site in Warsaw, Poznan, Gdansk, Wroclaw, and of course Kiev and Lviv, and the football teams chose places, where they were accommodated. The Towns, which were chosen by the teams was: Krakow, Warka, Wroclaw, Kolobrzeg, Donieck, Jachranka (Legionowo), Gniewino, Sopot, Gdansk, Warsaw, Opalenica, Kozin, Kiev, Wieliczka
This was huge undertaking for Poland and Ukraine, and this was first time when Poland was courted to organize this kind of event. Of course organizing committee been aware, how many work we would had to do before, but we realized how many good things it brings to our country.
During all football tournament there was played 31 matches, and it was took the part 16 teams. It started 8th June and finished 1st July 2012. All matches was site on eight venue in host cities of each country, Ukraine and Poland. The first game – opener was in Poland at National Stadium in Warsaw, and the final match was in Ukraine in Kiev.
